How to restore a deleted website

Last update: Feb 14, 2025 1 min read

If you delete your website, you should first create a new website with the same domain name, in the same data center a the old site, using the “Skip and create empty site” option during the website setup wizard. Then, you can request a paid restore from our Support Team by posting a ticket in our Help Center > Contact Us > SiteGround tools and services > Help with backup restore > CMS application (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc) or custom code > I want to restore a site that was deleted or suspended.

If you are unable to create a new website because your account is canceled or suspended, you must first renew it from your Client Area > Billing > Renewals and proceed to to the steps above.

Note that SiteGround keeps backups of customers’ shared and cloud hosting plans for a period of up to 60 and 7 days accordingly, so if we are unable to restore your site from a backup from a specific date or because there are none available, we’ll issue a refund for the payment.
